Winding down Summer

There are still a few weeks left of Summer, so I thought it would appropriate to share some of my favorite late Summer adventures around Seattle.

Hike up Kendall Katwalk.

Summer list

When I think of Summer, I instantly think of ice cream, sand between my toes, spending time on the water and long days filled with sunshine.

Below you will find my top ten favorite Summer time activities in Seattle (in no particular order):

1. Kayaking off Alki Beach or on Lake Union
2. Spending a long weekend at Seabrook.
3. Backpacking in to camp by a lake.
4. Renting any type of watercraft or going out on a friend's boat.
5. Heading out of town to explore for the weekend.
6. Day hiking along I-90 corridor: Rattlesnake Ridge or Mt. Si.
7. Visiting the San Juans to go Whale Watching.
8. Intimate dinner parties in our backyard or larger soirees.
9. Evening walks to watch the sunset at Lincoln Park.
10. Spending time with my favorite girls.

Shadow Play

The best part of photography is the camera's ability to capture fleeting moments, whether it be summer's freckles or a beautiful sunset. While we were on our rooftop deck enjoying the sunset last weekend, Cameron came up with the brilliant idea to make shadow puppets. I just happened to have my camera and so all sorts of craziness ensued.

Tip: If you don't want your shadow to appear chunky and shapeless, leave the big puffy down vest w/ hood at home. I know this for next time.

I know that my bunny is a little weak, but Cameron really has his bird down.

There was jumping.....

then there was diving.....

look at his form!

The evening was a slam dunk and quite possibly a new family pastime has been created.
