Mariner's Game: King's Court

When I think of spring time, it makes me think of the start of baseball season. Unlike many sports, baseball season lasts a good long time. It is fun to attend a Mariner's game when they are playing well and the weather is nice, but sometimes you just have to layer up and venture out anyway. When Felix Hernandez pitches they have a special cheering section you can purchase tickets for to a be a part of. It is called the King's Court. For $30 you will receive a t-shirt, a pretty good seat and a cheer card. A couple weeks ago our friend Tana, Cameron and I headed out to a game. As usual when the three of us get together, a good time was had by all.

University of Washington: Cherry Blossoms

Even though the blossoms in the Quad are past their prime, there is still plenty of beauty to behold on the University of Washington campus. Despite torrential rain and wind, these little pink beauties have hung on for dear life. I think their perseverance warrants a visit.

Liquid sunshine

Have you ever heard of rain referred to as liquid sunshine? My guess is whoever calls it this must live in a place where it hardly ever rains. We had big plans to visit the La Conner Tulip Festival and on the afternoon we visited it rained, it poured, it was windy and there was not another person in sight. The fields were still beautiful, but sometimes it is just nice for the sunshine to come out to visit.

Timing

Last week we were able to catch the tail end of the cherry blossoms at the University of Washington. Not quite as breathtaking as when they are in full bloom, but on the upside the weather was beautiful, the campus is still gorgeous and there were a lot less people roaming about.

Springtime buds

Our yard is ever increasingly coming alive. We are loving how it finally is beginning to feel like Spring.

Easy Spring dinner

If you are in need of an easy Spring dinner look no further. All you need is a bunch of watercress and a salmon fillet. Place the salmon fillet in a hot skillet, cover with olive oil and rub this stuff on it. Once the salmon is done, place the fillet on a bed of watercress. Serve with a side of couscous and sliced pineapple. A dinner which appears to be fancy in a mere 20 minutes. Enjoy!

About our business.....

Do you ever have periods in your life where you feel your entire focus is about getting your business taken care of? When it feels like there is little room for much else. This about sums up the past couple weeks around here. Here is to more home cooked meals, more free nights and time off for good behavior.

Springtime in the Emerald City

Give us a sunny day in Seattle and it feels like perfection. Unfortunately, we spent most of the weekend inside, but managed a walk along Alki to capture the quintessential Seattle skyline.

I have been playing with my camera settings lately and have grown awfully fond of ethereal images like the one above. Here is to many more sun filled days and long evening walks.
