Ten under ten

New York City is infamous for being expensive, but with a little time and effort you can have your fair share of cheap thrills.

1. Walking along the High Line is free and provides views not only of the Hudson River, but public artwork, scenery, and is a great place to stroll for an hour or two or enjoy a picnic lunch.

Great architecture along the High Line.

Albany

After flying all night long on a red eye from Seattle we finally landed in Albany, NY. It was a cool, crisp day and we were able to take in a little bit of the local food scene for breakfast. I had found Crisan Bakery online as a destination bakery and just knew that is where we must go for breakfast. After an almond and chocolate filled croissant we strolled around downtown like a native. (well except for the fact that we were taking photos at every turn :) The sun was shining and we were just happy to be off an airplane and breathing fresh air.
