A lesson learned at Horseshoe Bend

While we were hiking down to Horseshoe Bend a gentleman passed us and told us, "You are too late, the lights are out, it is over" Confused and yet undeterred by this man's comments we continued to near Horseshoe Bend as the sun was setting. We decided to stop here after a full day of boating and slot canyon viewing. Since it is the most photographed section of the Colorado River we wanted to see it for ourselves.

We are all connected

There are moments in life when you physically see how we are all connected on this planet. When you walk along a beach and see wreckage washed up from Japan or when Siberian forest fires are being dubbed the cause of the brilliant sunsets we have experienced as of late. A few weeks ago my family came over for Sunday dinner followed by a walk. It was one of the best sunsets I have not only seen but captured in awhile. Enjoy!

After dinner walk

One of my favorite things to do during the week is go on a walk after dinner just around when the sun has started to set. The colors are unpredictable and brilliant. Who says you need a tropical getaway to witness amazing sunsets? These photos prove otherwise.

My heart skipped a beat

I will be the first to admit that although we are enjoying our new place, we dearly missed the old one. Last week as I noticed the sun cast a pink hue into the living room, I grabbed my camera and dashed up to our bedroom. Witnessing such a spectacular sunset reminded me of the similarities between our two places. One of the benefits of our new place, is how I do not have to brave the elements to capture these amazing moments. I can enjoy them from the comfort of my own bedroom and for that I am grateful and am beginning to like this place even more.

Lincoln Park

Have you ever witnessed a sunset so amazing that it made you want to cry? Have you ever seen something so beautiful you could hardly believe your eyes? Have you ever not been able to stop taking photographs because you wanted to remember a particular moment so badly? The other day while on a walk each of the previous things occurred. I am always dumbfounded by all the beautiful things constantly occurring around us, whether or not we choose to stop and enjoy them.

Going, going, gone.....

One of my favorite things to do is watch the sun set from our roof top deck. You have to time it just right or you miss the sun in all its glory.

Chapters

Last night there was a glimmer of sun, which in turn created a glorious sunset. While I was watching the sun sink down to the horizon it made me reflect upon the sunsets in our own lives. Here is to change and the new chapters in all of our lives.
