As we were enjoyed the diminishing light, the thinning crowds and the spectacular sunset, I realized how life can constantly present us with little teaching moments. This gentlemen's encouragement to turn around, had it been heeded would have meant we would have missed out on one of my favorite moments of this trip. How often do we listen to others advice? Do we allow others to put ideas into our heads and make us doubt our own decisions? Sometimes you just have to ignore what others say and go with your gut. Seldom will you regret this.
Vulture at Horseshoe Bend |
Have you ever seen a vulture up close? I am talking like ten feet away? Vultures are the ugliest creatures, but this guy was fascinating to watch. He just stood there undeterred, allowing people to take his photograph for almost an hour.
You really need a wide angle lense to truly capture Horseshoe Bend, but sitting on those rocks watching the sunset was awe inspiring enough for me.
Best part of the day= the sweet light of sunset.
And to think how the gentlemen thought the lights were out and the show was over. What he did not realize was how it was just about to start.
