There is something so rewarding about spending an entire day outside. Breathing deeply from sun up to sun down was how we spent our time as the year drew to a close. We were able to enjoy sun's first light with a quiet walk through the forest, with only the sound of the crunching snow beneath our feet.
I love how even in busy destinations like Whistler you can still find moments of solitude.
It was a bone chilling twelve degrees, which made our breath freeze on the top of our jackets.
The constantly changing light made for some great photos.
A little village of snow covered rooftops, what could be more picturesque?
For some of you blue skies are as regular a part of your day as brushing your teeth, but for us Northwesterners blue skies are like Christmas day.
We walked around Whistler Village and saw remnants from the past Olympics.
We indulged in waffles with Canadian maple syrup.
We appreciated all the holiday decorations still up.
We rode the gondola high up onto Whistler's Blackcomb.
For Christmas we received this traveling gnome, since we book a majority of our trips through Travelocity it only seemed fitting. He thoroughly enjoyed himself despite his lack of a smiling for this photo.
We heralded in the New Year with dinner out and were feeling so wild we even ordered dessert. 2010 overall was such a great year, it is going to be hard to top in 2011.
