The
Byodo-In Temple is a replica of a 900 year old temple in Kyoto, Japan. The temple was built in memory of the first Japanese immigrants who came to Oahu to work in the sugar plantations. The backdrop of the 2,000 feet tall Koolau Range made for not only awesome photos, but transported you to another time and place.

In the pond surrounding the temple there were Koi, unusually plump due to the food they sold in the nearby gift shop. Watching them made me realize how they have mouths like vacuums and they literally seem to inhale their food.
