Summer hiking may have a strong hold on good weather, but Winter/early Spring hiking beats it out with no crowds. Even though there was snow, the air temperature was warm for this time of year.
Once we approached the lake it started to rain harder, so we took refuge amongst the trees and ate a quick snack. The lake was blanketed by snow except for one small patch which was in stark contrast to what we had seen prior here this past fall. The ebb and flow of seasons and weather has a severe impact on our natural surroundings which makes revisiting places a constant lesson in change.

I agree about spring, but for different reasons. Here in OK it is the only time that is tolerable. Went rappeling on Saturday with the scouts and it was a little bit of heaven. Btw, I love the picture of the river.
The fourth shot from the top is incredible. The serenity comes right off the page!!!
