Travel companions

Some people say you never really know someone until you travel with them and on the flip side that not all friends make good travel companions. This can occur for a variety of reasons including; differing schedules, pace, interests or energy levels. I am happy to report that our travel companions were superb to say the least and they were not only a fun diversion for the two of us, but provided an added measure of good humor, spontaneity and interest to the trip.

South Carolina's state motto sums up my overall feelings about the state; "Smiling faces and beautiful places" along our journey we encountered happy people and saw many wonderful sites.

At Murrells Inlet we were able to get up close and personal with the many pelicans. They provided endless entertainment and some great photo ops.

We were surprised to see just how built up Myrtle Beach was and relished the fact that within twenty minutes we could be away from it all.

The landscape was in stark contrast to what we are use to. There was a lot less green, marshes galore and docks aplenty.

The weather was cool, far cooler than normal for the area, but that did not stop us from seeing all the sights.

I have now convinced myself that I need several different colored rocking chairs, a wrap around porch, an ocean view and a plantation style home.

Us girls need to stick together, especially when our husbands have a propensity to say silly ridiculous things all in the name of a good laugh.
