Temporarily unnoticed

The other day I rode with Cameron into the city, I had work to do and so did he. We planned on meeting up afterwards to get dinner and see a movie. As I walked the familiar path to his office I paused to snap a few photos. Why had I never noticed this fading "Seattle" across the top of this building? Then I started to wonder how many other interesting things I skip over in any given day, either because I am too rushed, too flustered or too inwardly absorbed to notice. That "Seattle" sign is much like Cameron and I. We had walked passed each other, talked, had been friends through the years but it was not until I paused snapped a photo in my mind of what my future might look like and gave him a chance that my life truly changed. When the movie ended up not working out, we found ourselves outside at dusk, in unseasonably warm weather, we strolled down to the Space Needle and took the 43 second ride up. Up at the top, as the sun dropped creating a dark silhouette of the mountains, I sat pleased with myself for noticing what had always been in front of me, but I was too busy to notice.

This is what Taylor Swift is talking about. I'm glad you finally noticed me, but then again, I was shorter and easy to overlook. Good thing I drove a mini-van, that helped me stand out when you needed a ride home.

What a sweet sentiment! But of anyone I know, you are the best at noticing the beautiful and special things in the world. It is inspiring.
I especially like your Seattle shots from Wordless Wednesday and now the new one.
