While walking home from the post office the other day, I noticed our local pie shop was open on a Monday. I knew this was a rarity, so I read the sign affixed to the door "In honor of National Pie Day we are open Monday, January 23rd ". Who knew this was a legitimate holiday? All the way home, my mind churned as to how we were going to celebrate that evening. In addition, I read the following quote which resonated with my own feelings about our home. These two ideas combined to result in individual pies for the two of us and a mini Monday evening celebration. I love making fun surprises for guests, but doing it for yourself sometimes feels even more special.
