Even though we were camping, we decided to "cheat" a little and ate most of our meals out. I like to think of it as our anniversary edition of glamping. We still slept in a tent, kept warm by the fire and did not shower for a couple days, but for the most part we were out and about at meal times. If you do not mind a little drive or are searching for a killer breakfast place, might I suggest Calico Cupboard in Anacortes. It is the kind of place that is packed at eight am on a Saturday morning and clearly a favorite with the locals. I also imagine it is the kind of place where they not only know your name, but know your order. We both ordered the french toast, but my unaware of caloric intake husband ordered the cinnamon roll version. I was a bit jealous, but the bite or two I tried was delicious, it was the ultimate in indulgent breakfasts.
We always must stop for a photo op at places named Cameron. We have yet to find a place named Lisette, so let me know if you come across one and we will start planning our pilgrimage.

After the beach we headed south to Coupeville. I have been here several times as child, but it had been awhile. After window shopping and a walk on the pier we had lunch at Knead and Feed. The staff, the service and the food was exceptional and I am already planning a trip back.
Knead and Feed offers delicious fresh baked bread, homemade soups and hearty sandwiches. If you are indecisive on the soup, they will even bring you a little cup to help decide. The cinnamon rolls where as large as a salad plate, so we took one to go for breakfast in the morning.
Today, all by itself, could be the perfect day trip from the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Where are your favorite day trips to?
