In life I try to assume people are inherently good, unless they show you otherwise. Luckily, the hiking crowd is typically far friendlier than your normal group of people, maybe it is the increase in blood flow and oxygen or maybe it is the beautiful scenery. While hiking Mt. Si on Saturday we were the recipients of several boosting comments, but one of my favorite was, "I like that attitude". At the time was I smiling, grimacing or sweating? Vague enough to be interrupted multiple ways, but positive enough to inspire me to keep going.
He we are at the top, in a record time of 1:17.
There are too many of these friendly visitors up at the top, ready to swipe or clean up after your snack.
Maybe not the best decision I have ever made, but I decided to wear these boots I had just bought on Friday. I needed somewhere to break them in and thought why not. I managed to get away with only one relatively small blister and I think the fact that they are no longer clean is a good sign they are well on their way to no longer being new.
Be careful where you drop things because these little guys are fearless scavengers.

I'm out of my boot!!! Foot still tender, but it won't be long until I'm hiking again! Yeah.... If you are ever interested in a slower paced climb, call us. With Steve switching to nights, he will be able to hike Saturday mornings...

I've never taken the time to hike Mt. Si. Next time there, I have to squeeze it in.
