A Vancouver meet up

We love a good excuse to travel, so when we received word Cameron's brother's family would be ending their Alaska cruise in Vancouver, we thought it was the perfect time to come up for the weekend. We stayed at the Sheraton Wall Centre and were delighted with the floor to ceiling windows. Waking up to this view, I was able to pretend I was living in a big city like New York.

We spent the morning walking along the waterfront and watching the float planes take off and land.

Later in the day we met up with Ryan and his family. We enjoyed touring the city on the hop on hop off bus, eating lunch and catching up. One good way to document the passage of time is to have children turning into young adults before your very eyes. It is not only very exciting, but extremely noticeable when you are not around them all the time.

The destruction and remnants of the riots were visible everywhere. There were numerous boarded up windows each covered with comments from well wishers from the around the world. Some of favorites are as follows:

"Stupidity is better as a secret"
"Dumb people did this, not fans"
"It is easy to break a window, hard impossible to break spirit.
