Adventures on Vashon and West Seattle

On Saturday, we thought it might be fun to walk onto the ferry and see what we could explore on Vashon via foot and bus. We learned a couple of things that day : 1. the bus runs very infrequently 2. why didn't they build the downtown core closer to the ferry terminal.

We enjoyed an ample amount of sunshine, entertainment, sampling and people watching. There was a family band playing at the Farmer's Market, we were able to sample a gigantic cookie and had time for a quick stop at the best soft serve around at Zoomies.

Presentation is key when displaying your wares. I would rather buy something out of a beautiful basket, than a condensation filled ziplock bag.

First bite of the gigantic chocolate chip cookie.

Easy, laid back displays of roses.

They used old berry picking baskets to display broccoli.

Who can beat the vibrance of Rainier cherries?

Zoomies soft serve at its finest.

This pair cracked us up, she kept approaching him to dance with her, he kept denying her.

All in all some good island time.

Riding back home on the ferry.

Blue skies, farmer's markets and street fairs, now that sounds like a summer day to me.

Back home we rounded out the day visiting the West Seattle street Fair. Mainly, we just soaked up more sunshine while walking around to check it all out.
